6 year old ENK'D is an aspiring tagger and 1st grader, trying to balance the lines of reality and fantasy. Rescuing the world & his single mother with the help of his crew of MISFITZ crew of 1st graders, a stuffed bear that morphs into a guardian grizzly, a reckless talking New York pigeon named BROOKLYN and laser water pistol. ENK'D takes on the problems of the universe. Battling through schoolwork, chores, teachers, & neighbors bent on world domination, and the men trying to date his mom. Guided by the wisdom of his Grandpa and a misguided aggressive pigeon, the world has no idea what it's in for. From the urban streets of St. Louis, a graffiti powered young hero rises through the ranks of grade school to fight against the injustice, politics, and bullies across the various realities. I give you POPULAR MiSFiTZ by artist & creator Troy "Ty" Young, (1/2 of the Co-Founders & Co-owner of POPULAR MISFITZ Co.) A parent and an uncle with a large number of niece & nephews, the comic strip series is influence by a great deal of my day to day with them & the rest of the world. ENK'D was originally my tagged name, originally spelled INK'D. But so many other entities ran with it that I chose to change the spelling as well as my tag symbol. The character "ENK'D" is a collab of my son, Jaylen, and my nephew, Coby. Jesus!! What a combination! Ha! Ha! Brilliant and a hand full at the same time. There are at seven consistent characters. The rest from people and events I've come across. So if you're reading this, and something looks familiar...it may be you. As an artist and a writer, I'm greatly influenced by my surroundings and interest. POPULAR MISFITZ is no different. Graffiti, music, fashion and politics and the cities I visit. Oh yeah. BROOKLYN is a real person. ENJOY!!
